Finally winter is showing signs of fatigue and spring is just around the corner, bringing with it the promise of new life and fresh produce. All month we have been in field preparation mode: disking the fields, incorporating compost, rowing up the beds, laying mulch and now the real fun is about to begin. We plan on having our first big planting day on March 15th but in the mean time we decided it was time for a crop of a whole other kind. Today, March 12th, our second child Sia Mae Pace came into the world. She is certified 100% organic, weighing in at 7 pounds 14 ounces. Momma and baby are resting comfortably and we will all be back on the farm by the weekend to start planting. Older brother Kai couldn't be more excited, if slightly confused that she doesn't know how to talk yet. Either way we couldn't possibly be any happier about the whole thing and can't think of a better precursor to the coming of spring.
